Silvana Patricia Altahona López is a Colombian TV host, model, lawyer and designer.

Silvana was born in Bucaramanga, Santandereanas, Colombia on November 26, 1984. She grew up in Villavicencio, Meta, where her family moved when she has only four years old. She started to model at the age of sixteen. At the age of seventeen, she moved to Bogota in order to start her university studies at University of Los Andes (Colombia).

She studied law at university, nevertheless, she never gave up her modelling career. In 2005, Silvana took a break from university with the aim of representing Meta in a national beauty contest. She has crowned Miss Meta 2005. That same year she graduated from University of Los Andes (Colombia) and became a lawyer.

Early life - Education

Silvana was born in Bucaramanga (Santander) Colombia. However, from a very young age, she lived in Villavicencio (Meta), the reason for which she feels “Llanera.” Silvana points out that “she always felt an affinity with the Human and Social Sciences and developed a sense of justice and equity from a very early age,” this led her to study law. She studied at Los Andes University (Bogotá). Still, she alternated between her studies and her career as a model since the young age of sixteen.

But it was until the National Reign of Beauty in Cartagena, where she was elected as a queen when she realized her passion for journalism and the work of transmitting information to others.

Thus, Silviana began to prepare herself to be in front of the cameras.

She took some workshops and courses in voice management and body language.

Her dedication and efforts soon consolidated her as one of the presenters most admired by the Colombians.

Career

After graduating in 2005 from her law degree in University of Los Andes (Colombia), Silvana become the ambassador for the well-known beer company, Aguila in 2008.

Her television debut arrives one year later, in 2009, when Silvana forms part for the first time of the Canal Caracol team as a TV host in the program with hidden cameras "Tambien Caeras" (Spanish for "You will also fall"). She also started appearing in the entertainment section of Noticias Caracol, in the same channel.

In 2012, she moved to United Kingdom in order to study English, as Spanish is her first language. One year later, she moved to Miami where she started working in AméricaTeVé news section. She is now fluent in English.

After three years away from home, Silvana moved back to Bogota, where her family lives.

She works at CM& in a program called "Panorama" about modelling, presentation of events and swimwear design.

Design

Over 15 years' worth of modelling experience have given Silvana the opportunity of creating her own company and sell her bathing suit designs.

The brand she has created from scratch is called "Summer Forever by Silvana."

It is a high range swimming suit brand with many models of bikinis and swimming customes in four different sizes.

It is an online store, therefore, acquisitions may be made on their website using credit cards or may even be arranged using WhatsApp.

The brand also produces a blog that runs alongside the shop, it gives advice as to how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Social Media

Silvana has a FaceBook page, with nearly 10 thousand likes and followers.

On Twitter, she has over seventy one thousand followers and on Instagram over sixty two thousand, where she frequently post pictures, especially modelling her own swimming wear collections.

Summer Forever by Silvana also has its own Instagram and, with not even a year of life, it has nearly five hundred photos and three thousand followers.

Personal Life

She was born in Bucaramanga to Ricardo Segundo Altahoma and Rosalda Lopez, Silvana´s parents. Silvana has two brothers called Ricardo Altahona Lopez and Harold Altahona Lopez. They all moved when Silvana was four years old to Villavicencio, Meta.

From a small age, she wanted to be a lawyer, although other dreams of her were of becoming one day a marine biologist or a pediatric.

Some of her all time hobbies have been listening to music, dancing and nature.

She has always liked to swim as well as fashion, which is why her company Summer Forever by Silvana is a perfect mix of her two passions.

In 2013, her partner, Aaron Marquiniez, proposed to her near Warwick Castle, in the Uk. She later moved with him to Miami, where he was living, where they got married. In 2015, Silvan returned to her hometown alone.

For this passionate “llanera,” gastronomy and dance are part of her hobbies, as well as enjoying the beach, reading a good book, exercising and traveling the world to know different cultures, landscapes, climates, and people.

Silvana says that: “The world is an open book and if you have the opportunity to travel it you have to do it, that changes your perspective on life and mind.” [3] She currently wants to work for some NGOs where she can help others and learn from other life stories.

Family

Silvanas’ parents are Rosalba Lopez and Ricardo Altahona.

Silvana considers her mother a passionate woman, with a lot of temperament.

“She was mother and father at the same time, teacher and retired, who always gave me the freedom to choose academically what made me happy. She trusted my qualities, commitment, and responsibility since I was a child.” Silvia also points out that "her father taught her the value of dedication and to always be the best at what she does."
