Sidney Powell (Lawyer)

Sidney Powell is a federal appellate attorney, best-selling author, Speaker, and Consultant. She has decades of experience as the lead counsel in more than 500 appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. [1][4]

Education

Sidney Powell graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School and later attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. in Political Science and English. She later earned her J.D of Law from the University of North Carolina School of Law. In school she was involved with Phi Beta Kappa, the Holderness Moot Court Bench; and she was the National Client Counseling Competition regional winner. [2][3]

Career

Law

Sidney Powell (Lawyer) started her career as an assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Texas and later worked in the Eastern District of Virginia. At one point she was the president of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers as well as the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit.

Sidney also has her own firm called Sidney Powell, P.C. that she opened in 1992.

Her practice specializes in complex litigation, having dealt with $3 billion dollar asbestos cases, international aerospace contract issues, employment discrimination cases and everything inbetween.

Sidney was the form president and founder of The Genesis Alliance, an all-volunteer non-profit women's shelter. She was also the past president of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit.

Writing and Media

Sidney has written articles for New York Observer in the Opinion and National News Section. She's also a blogger at SeekingJustice.Org where her posts are focused on holding rogue prosecutors accountable for bending the law and suppressing evidence.

She's also the author of the best-selling book "Licensed to Lie: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice".

The book is about the deep-seated corruption lurking in justice department, examining how prominent cases like the Ted Stevens case, the Enron cases and the Arthur Andersen cases were handled.

Sidney has appeared on various radio and television shows like Dick Morris, Jim Bohannon, Alan Nathan, Newsmax, Fox News, C-SPAN, Book TV, Neil Cavuto, and others. [1]
