Sidea Griffin was an 18-year-old senior at Kempsville High School. She originally hails from Virginia Beach, VA. ^[1]

Sidea found joy in dancing and enjoyed posting Selfies of herself on Facebook. She was very close with her family and considered her mother her best friend. Griffin is remembered by her friends and family for being a sweet young woman who had a huge heart for others. ^[8]

On the evening of January 14th, Sidea, her boyfriend, and another male were in her boyfriend's vehicle.

Something happened, possibly a drug deal gone wrong, and the male in the front seat shot Sidea, fatally wounding her.

The male who shot her was charged with seconder degree murder and use of a firearm.

He is being held in juvenile custody without bond.
