Sheri Shermeyer (1976 - December 26, 2016) was a stay at home mom who killed her son and committed suicide due to her battle with depression.

Sheri Shermeyer originally hails from Anderson Creek, North Carolina and graduated from Western Harnett High School in 1994.
Sheri married her husband, Tracy Alan Shermeyer on October 16, 2014. They had one son together named John Russell Shermeyer.
Sheri is remembered for her infectious smile, bubbling personality, and the love she had for her son.
Prior to her death, Sheri had been collecting numerous quotes and organizing them in a Facebook page called "Quotes of all kinds." The content within those quotes that revolve around the aspirations of wanting to be strong and yearning to be loved.
Murder-Suicide
On December 26, 2016 Sheri wrote a murder-suicide note on Facebook. In it, she details the abuse she's been coping with under her husband, Tracy Alan Shermeyer, themes of feeling trapped, regret, loneliness, and despair are prevalent throughout the note. These extreme emotions drove Sheri to respond to her husband is to rob him of his legacy, and killing their son.
Sheri then proceeded to suffocate her 12-month-year-old son and then shot herself in the head.
Their bodies were discovered by a welfare check after her Facebook check.
