Shelita Burke is originally from Seattle, Washington. Burke started programming when she was eight and from young age she knew that she wanted to become a singer. She later graduated from the Northwest College of Art & Design. After graduating from Northwest, Burke went on to become a Senior Data Engineer at Microsoft. She later left the position to focus on music full time.
