Michael Williams (born September 23, 1998), professionally known as Sheff G, is a drill rapper from Brooklyn. He is known for his standout lyrical ability and storytelling style. Sheff first broke out with his diss track “No Suburban,” directed at fellow Brooklyn rapper 22gz, in May 2017. [2] [19]

Early Life

Sheff G grew up in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn. His early musical influences include The Notorious BIG, Fif, and Eminem as well as Chief Keef and other drill rappers from Chicago. [20]

Sheff became involved in gang activities before even turning 13.

“Gang shit in Brooklyn is tradition,” he said in an interview.

“You gotta have the mindset that things can go wrong at any time, and I was always prepared for the consequences.”

High school was difficult for Sheff, with many fights and suspensions.

In the 12th grade, he dropped out of high school after he was caught firing gunshots at enemies outside of the Brooklyn shopping mall King’s Plaza. He was arrested and given probation for the incident. [18]

In June 2020, he released a new five-track EP called Just 4 Y’all which features contributions from Lil Tjay, Sleepy Hallow, Rich The Kid, Jay Critch, and more. [21]
