Shaylen Borkowski is a Florida woman.
Nurse Shark Bite
On May 15, 2016 while swimming at Red Reef Park in Boca Raton, Florida Borkowski was bitten by a small Nurse Shark. According to Borkowski's friends, she was them snorkeling for the first time when the incident occurred. Borkowski got in the way of a Nurse Shark and bit her arm. Her friends were unable to remove the shark from her arm.
Borkowski, was transported to Boca Raton Regional Hospital in stable condition.
She was released from the hospital with minor injuries, but the shark had died.
Beachgoers say that Borkowski provoked the Nurse Shark by disturbing it, causing it to bite her.
Borkowski took the dead shark back home to bury it.
