Shawna Cox, 59, spoke at a news conference at the refuge and appears in several photos next to Ammon Bundy.

Cox, from Kanab, Utah, was at the 2014 Bundy standoff in Nevada, according to The New York Times.

A more recent Times story said she has since written a book about Cliven Bundy called *The Last Rancher Standing.

Don Cox said his wife is "not part of a militia or anything else."
