Shawn Eichorst
Shawn Eichorst is an American Athletic director, Lawyer, and former educator who has formerly worked for the Huskers. He is known to have a great sense for building athletics in colleges having also formerly worked for University of Miami.

Shawn was born and raised in the town of Lone Rock in the state of Wisconsin.
Education
Shawn committed to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he graduated Magna cum laude in Business in 1990. He was an all-conference defensive back and three-time letterwinner and football team captain. In 2015, he earned the Distinguished Alumni Award for professional achievement.
A few years after his graduation, he earned his law degree from Marquette Law School in 1995.

Shawn practiced law in the city of Milwaukee until 1999. He is a past member of the State Bar of Wisconsin Of Governors.

He worked as an assistant Adjunct professor of law at Marquette, where he taught sports Law.

Eichorst worked in Nebraska after serving as Director of Athletics at Miami in 2011 and 2012.
He hired legendary men’s basketball coach Jim Larrañaga, who led Miami to the NIT Second Round in his first season and ACC regular-season and tournament titles as well and the NCAA Sweet 16 in his second.
The women’s basketball, women’s tennis, women’s soccer, volleyball and baseball teams also made significant NCAA postseason accomplishments.
Before heading to Miami, Eichorst was the Deputy Athletics Director at Wisconsin.
He was the Chief Operating Officer and oversaw the department’s daily operations, as well as the men’s basketball program under the direction of Director of Athletics,
Hall of Fame Football Coach and former Husker Barry Alvarez.
From 2004 to 2006, Eichorst served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration at South Carolina, overseeing the department’s daily operations, as well as the football and baseball programs under legendary coaches Lou Holtz, Steve Spurrier and Ray Tanner, respectively.
Huskers Firing
On September 22nd, during a press conference about the future of the sports program at Huskers, University chancellor Ronnie Green announced that Shawn will no longer be the Athletic Director.
The chancellor indicated that in the very moments of his announcement in the firing of Eichorst, the officials were already in the process to immediately find a replacement.
Eichorst, hired in October 2012 from the University of Miami, will be paid the approximately $1.7 million remaining on his contract, which runs through June 2019.
