Born and raised in the city of Camden, Shapaul would live the rest of his life in this town. He attended Camden High School where he excelled and was remembered as being a dependable student and friend. [3]
Personal Life
People in the community remember SP as being a goofball and trying to make others have a good time.
Many observed that SP was a people person who was always on people's side being cool with everybody.
He had a girlfriend who was 20 years old who carried his unborn child.
Danaysha Peoples will be the mother of his child.
He went to Camden County Technical Faculties and Camden Huge Image Studying Academy, previously referred to as MetEast.
Homicide Victim
An Altar that commemorates SP.
On Thursday May 18th, 2017, Shapaul Johnson was shot once at 7:27 p.m. in the 1000 block of Thurman Street, according to a release from the Camden County prosecutor's office.
Police responded to the scene due to Shot Spotter notification and several 911 calls.
Johnson died from the gunshot wound at Cooper University Hospital around 1:35 a.m. Friday.
No arrests have been made in connection with his killing.
SP will never make it to his prom - something he had looking forward to for a long time.
He was also the youngest victim in a homicide in Camden.
Commemoration
N'namdee Nelson, founder of a nonprofit called Rising Leaders that mentors youth, asked residents to come out Friday night.
He never met SP himself, but when he saw that photos he took of graduation, he was saddened by the incident.
Friends and family gathered to commemorate SP with an altar and to also join for Vigil that went onto the early hours.
