Shadie Elnashai was born on January 13, 1983 in the London Borough of Barnet of England. He is an assistant director and production manager, known for Taken 2 (2012), Hatchet II (2010) and The Apparition (2012). Elnashai was previously the VP of the Board of Directors at the nonprofit movie organization Cinefamily in Los Angeles. ^[1]

In August 2017, an encrypted email from the unknown sender “501 Cinefamily Think” began to circulate among the Los Angeles film community.

^[2]The email cites a 2014 harassment case against Hadrian Belove that ended in a settlement, as well as accusing Elnashai of “raping multiple women.” It is not clear from the email who is accusing Elnashai of rape. ^[0]

When allegations that Elnashai assaulted a staff member first emerged in late 2016, Cinefamily allegedly said he was off the board—which did not last long, according to Karina Chacham, who volunteered at Cinefamily from 2010 to 2016.
