Sergey Pakhomov

Sergey Pakhomov

Sergey Igorevich Pakhomov (Russian: Серге́й И́горевич Пахо́мов, Russian pronunciation: [sʲɪrɡʲˈej ˈiɡərʲɪvʲˈɪtɕ pˈaxomˈof]; born November 4, 1966) is a Soviet and Russian underground actor, screenwriter, musician, Interior designer, avant-garde artist, and stand-up comedian. Participant of the TV show "Bitva Extrasensov" (2015).

Biography

He was born in 1966 in Moscow.

Sergey's childhood passed to an incomplete family.

His father, a professor-biologist, left the family when Sergey was a child.

From an early age, Pakhomov was experienced by visions and hallucinations.

[21] He graduated from Krasnopresnenskaya Art School in 1981, in 1985 - completed his studies in Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry, during the visit, he was especially interested in iconography. In 1986 he was on treatment in the Kashchenko psychiatric hospital, where he was sent by the conscription commission instead of the Soviet–Afghan War. [21] [22] Other Pakhomov hobbies in the 1980s were playing in music bands, sports and wrestling. [23] In 1984-1985 he participated in apartment art expositions, and since 1988, he took part in larger expositions of painting - both in Russia and abroad, for example, in New York. In the late 80's for the first time he got on television in the TV program "Vzglyad" due to his artistic creativity. [21] In 1988-2000 he studied modern art in Europe and the USA, visited New York, Paris, Marseilles, Berlin. [24] Fame for Sergey Pakhomov brought in the filming of movies by Svetlana Baskova: "Cocky - Running Doctor" (1998), "The Green Elephant" (1999), "Five Bottles Of Vodka" (2001) and "The Head" (2003). [24] Most notable for him was the role of a junior officer from a village in the resonant film "The Green Elephant" where his hero defecated and ate his excrement.**

In 2000, Pakhomov started working at the publishing house "Hachette Filipacchi Shkulev", where in he was appointed art director of glossy magazines.

In 2002-2007, the artist edited the magazine "Elle Decor, in 2008 - acted as art director of "Marie Claire", and July 1, 2009, took a similar position in the editorial office of the Russian version of the magazine "Elle". [24] [25]

Pakhomov himself often calls that he does "a mixture of idiocy and absurdity"[26].

Performs with lectures and comic monologues in the stand-up genre, participates in the filming, engage in the design of interiors, exhibits his paintings at various expositions.

According to Pakhomov's own admission to Rolling Stone Russia magazine, he never tried to earn as much money as possible. [27]

"Here I am, Pakhomov, a forty-year-old Muscovite without education - singing, dancing, showing a dick, shooting in forbidden films, using drugs, if they are, poor as a church mouse..."

Periodically appears in the program "Learning the World with Viktor Puzo", acting as the second host.

In 2015, he took part in the TV show "Bitva Extrasensov" on the TNT (Russian TV channel). [3]On October 24, he voluntarily left the project, explaining this by saying that he wanted to "do a good deed". [4]Producer of the show predicted the victory of Pakhom and didn't want him to leave the project. Also, at the time of leaving the project, Sergey was the favorite member of both the viewers and the jury, according to polls, 50% of the votes cast for him. Pakhomov himself about his participation says: "I decided that it would be better, with my personal script, to get into the already ready format, where there is light, sound, production. And the art is how competently you tell the story in six episodes, so that there will be a beginning and the end". [21]

On February 10, 2017, he took part in the TV show "The Invisible Man" on TV-3 (Russia). [5]Since November 13, 2017, he is conducting the show "Supernatural Selection" on the same channel. [6]He announced his intention to run for President of Russia in the presidential election, 2018. [7] [8]

Creativity and criticism

"The two main characteristics of Sergey Pakhomov's creative work are absurdity and idiocy" - Sergey Kulikov repeated after the artist himself.

[24]In Moscow artistic circles Pakhomov enjoys great popularity.

His contemporaries call him a "cult" and "scandalous" personage.

[9]It is the definition of "personage", according to Andrey Smirnov, most accurately characterizes Pakhomov.

Famous musical critic Andrey Bukharin, in turn, calls the artist and actor "a social phenomenon", [10]and his colleague Leonid Alexandrovsky - "a man of renaissance from Novokuznetskaya, a wild buffoon in the outfit, ever-on potty mouth of bohemian capital".

[11]In the 2000s During the stand-up show, Pakhom showed on the stage shocking performances in the spirit of the Moscow Conceptualists, critics often compared Pakhomov with Dmitri Prigov. [21]

Svetlana Baskova always spoke highly of Pakhomov.

In one of the interviews, she compared the relationship between her and Pakhomov with the relations of Federico Fellini and Marcello Mastroianni, stressing, that this person is an "integral part" of all her films. "He did not die anywhere" - especially noted the director. "All the characters died, but he did not. Through Pakhomov I broadcast myself. We feel each other and are able to create pieces of art together." [12]

The artist calls himself a "cunning, greedy, calculating" person.

[23]Such an explanation was given in an interview about the reasons for participating in the "Bitva Extrasensov".

[13]However, in other interviews Pakhomov directly declares his paranormal abilities.

[14]The finalist of the project Zirradin Rzayev doubted Pakhom's paranormal abilities: "In the last season of the "Bitva Extrasensov", I saw participants talking to a phantoms, showing karate techniques...

This is just a 99,9 % show.

This is especially evident after the participation of such heroes as Pakhom".

[15]

Painting

"I was an artist in general, painting in the middle of the eighties.

And all the foreigners came to me, different ambassadors, and they gave me a lot of money for the paintings and then they exposed it in different museums."- Pakhomov recalled the most fruitful period of his creative activity.

[16]Pakhomov's paintings, a representative of contemporary art, were exhibited at the Ludwigshafen Museum, Saatchi Gallery in London and also in the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. [24] People who know Pakhomov are sure that very few people perceive him as an artist and, in the words of the critic Leonid Aleksandrovsky, "probably he does not know that he is a very serious painter". [11] Pakhomov's works are periodically exhibited in the Marat Gelman Gallery. A vivid example of this was the exhibition, which was in April-May 2012. The central element of this exposition was the sculptural composition "Altare". Pakhomov himself annotated it as:

*"Dedicated to my late uncle, who lived as he could, and died like a rag.

This is the altar of the dispossessed and unfortunate, invisible, but endowed with the Lord's ability to express themselves.

My altar is the altar of the poor by spirit and poor by body.

This is a picture of Russia that has never existed."

Music

In an interview in 2007, Pakhomov said that he was engaged in music from an early age (his "love from childhood"), cooperating with such Moscow musicians as Pavel Hotin ("Zvuki Mu"), Alexei Borisov and Ivan Sokolovsky ("Nochnoy Prospect"), Andrei Suchilin ("Do Major") and others. He appeared on stage with the American band "Maroon 5" in Paris, and with Chris Cutler during the first visit of Chris to Moscow. Pakhomov himself prefers electronic music and death metal. [16] [18]The first Pakhomov's Punk rock band called "Dzyu Om" was conceived by him as an ensemble of the mentally ill. [21]

Since 2008, Sergey Pakhomov using the pseudonym "Pakhom", doing musical and concert activities, including together with guitarist Mikhail "Vivisector" Antipov.

They met in 2007.

"He needed a drummer for his band, seemingly, or a percussionist.

Well, somehow we intertwined".

[23]As of 2012, the duo "Pakhom and Vivisector" recorded two joint albums.

The first of these, "Boncha", was released in 2008.

Artemy Troitsky, under whose label the album was released, described him as "the first real Russian rap". Some critics share Troitsky's opinion on this issue. The "Boncha" caused an ambiguous reaction in society. Maxim magazine (Russian edition) called the work of a duo different from rap, but noted it great closeness "to the realities of our collective unconscious", contrasted the creativity of "consumptive stylists": Timati, Detsl, Kasta. [19]Andrey Bukharin compared it with the songs of Pyotr Mamonov and other absurdists. "Pakhom (...) convincingly simulates maniacal alcoholic delirium or just a stream of darkened consciousness (...) thanks to the skill of the guitarist Mikhail Antipov", - he stressed - "Strangely enough this seemingly full thrash can be listened". [10]Pakhomov created his next album "Life - a fun carnival" alone, without Antipov, but with the active participation of Alexei "Prohor" Mostiev - a prominent figure in the Russian musical bohemia. October 14, 2010 Artemy Troitsky and "Pachom" with "Vivisector" presented a new disc recorded within the project "Moscow". [20]The new album caused the same reaction as "Boncha". Pakhomov, as Sergey Bernard noted, "least of all is similar to the adequacy", based on the content of the album. Andrey Smirnov, comparing "Moscow" with the previous Pakhom's albums, called it more "morose, noticing, however, the presence of "charm" and color". "The music and painting of Pakhom live the same laws. From the sounds and howls, just as from the stains and smears of paint, poetry is born" - summarized Russian critic Mikhail Trofimenkov. [24]

Personal life

As of March 2007, Sergey Pakhomov was not married, but he already had, according to him, a foster son Ivan, [27]whereas in an April interview in the same year he said that he was married and had two sons of seventeen and eighteen years old, however, it does not prevent him from getting carried away by "young women of seventeen or eighteen years".

[16]In another interview, in 2009, telling about "the wick in [his] ass", he mentioned that because of this "wick" "my neighbors, relatives, wife suffer."

Despite this, the name of Pakhomov's wife and the date of the appearance of this woman in his life, is unknown.

[23]Other sources report that Sergey Pakhomov has a son Pavel.
