Sean Gibbons (born November 14, 1966 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) is a matchmaker for professional boxing. He boxed professionally and he has worked as a boxing trainer. As of 2018, he is the President of Manny Pacquiao Promotions.^[15]

Gibbons spent many of his early years in Oklahoma.

His father served in the United States Navy.

He attended Moorpark College. He has two sons and he has been married to his wife for over twenty four years.

His uncle was Pat O'Grady.

Pat O'Grady founded the World Athletic Association in 1981.

He is the cousin of former WBA lightweight world champion Sean O'Grady. Gibbons boxed professionally from 1985 to 1996. BoxRec has his professional record listed as 14 wins, 7 losses ,three draws,with 9 knockouts. He had a draw with Mickey Rourke on September 8, 1994. Rourke was a major Hollywood star for many years and acted in the movies Homeboy and Johnny Handsome. Gibbons had many of his early boxing matches in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He boxed in the light heavyweight division.Gibbons lost to Alex Ramos in April 1994. Seven months later Ramos challenged for the World Boxing Association middleweight world championship against Jorge Castro in Argentina and lost. He holds wins over Mike Sykes ,Mike Dunn and Nick Porter.^[16]

He trained Ross Puritty his match with Tommy Morrison in 1994. The result was a draw with Puritty scoring two clean knockdowns in the match. Morrison was co-star of the movie Rocky V.

According to The Las Vegas Sun, Gibbons has promoted 150 fight cards in Oklahoma since 1985 before moving to Las Vegas in 1998 where he accepted an offer from Top Rank. In an April 2019 interview at Jerwin Ancajas' survival camp in Cavite, Gibbons told PowCast that "I started from everything.I set up the ring, fought a few times,sold the tickets, sold the program ads, did the matches. In Oklahoma you're the promoter, the matchmaker and sometimes you have to fight in the ring. he epicenter of the boxing universe". Gibbons honed his craft working with Hall of Fame matchmaker Bruce Trampler. After his stint with Top Rank ended in 2004, Sean brought his talents to the Native American tribe-owned Sycuan Ringside Promotions where he developed up and coming fighters.

Gibbons first met Manny Pacquiao in 2005. Their first major collaboration was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in July of 2018 when Manny Pacquiao competed against Lucas Mathhysse for the WBA welterweight world title. Gibbons earned Pacquiao's trust and confidence and was named President of Manny Pacquiao Promotions. He manages Pacquiao's boxers such as Jerwin Ancajas, Jhack Tepora, John Riel Casimiro and Marlon Tapales.
