On October 31, 2017, at around 3:15 p.m., Saipov drove a Home depot flatbed pickup truck and swerved into the bike lane of West Street on the West Side Highway, located in Lower Manhattan, New York City (Tribeca). He ran over multiple pedestrians, mainly bike riders, causing at least eight fatalities and fifteen injuries. [0]
