Scoles graduated from Agnes Scott College with a Bachelor's degree in astrophysics. She went on to attend Cornell University, where she received a Master's degree in fiction. [1]

Career

Her writing has also appeared in The Atlantic, Slate, Smithsonian, The Washington Post, Scientific American, and Aeon. [1]

She is also a former editor at Astronomy Magazine, where she worked at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, the location of the first-ever SETI project. [1]
