Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal (died Setpember 27, 2019) was a sheriff's deputy in Harris County, Texas. was the first Sikh to become a deputy at a Houston-area sheriff’s department.

In 2015, Dhaliwal gained national attention when he got permission to wear a turban as part of his office uniform.

On September 27, 2019, Dhaliwal was shot and killed at a traffic stop in Houston.^[3]

Before joining the police force, Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal started his own trucking business.

He became a deputy in 2009.

The shooter was identified as Robert Solis.
