Samantha Manning is an American journalist who is currently working with Cox Media Group’s Washington, D.C. (wpxi.com). Samantha Manning is responsible for covering important developments from Capitol Hill, Federal agencies and the White House that impact local viewers.[1][3]

Samantha Manning hasn’t uncovered the real date of her birth. Besides, Samantha Manning was born and raised in Brooklyn and Staten Island in New York City. She holds an American nationality and she is of white ethnicity.

Samantha attended Hofstra University in the year 2006 to 2009 where she studied and obtained Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Her activities and societies are WRHU Radio Hofstra University, The Hofstra Chronicle, Delta Phi Epsilon, and Phi Eta Sigma[2]

Samantha Manning began her career in 2008, where she worked as Intern for forextv.com at TV Media in New York, NY .

She researched, wrote and anchored the business reports on camera for their webstream- including the commodities and equities reports.[5][7]

She worked as Intern for 7 On Your Side at WABC-TV in New York, NY, from August 2008 to December 2008 where she worked under the producer of the consumer news segment of WABC-TV's Eyewitness News program. She conducted pre-interviews with sources and pitched stories to the producer.[6]

In February 2009 to June 2009, Samantha worked as Intern for Transit, Transit News at WNYE-TV in Brooklyn, NY, where she was responsible for producing, writing and reporting on stories for the TV news magazine program, "Transit, Transit News."

She covered stories relating to the NYC MTA, which included highlighting the use of energy efficient buses on Long Island and coverage of the opening day at the new Yankee Stadium.

Samantha worked as News Director - Radio Hofstra University at WRHU 88.7-FM in Hempstead, NY , from January 2009 to December 2009 where she ran the News Department for WRHU Radio Hofstra University. She was responsible for staffing, assignments, and scheduling. She produced, anchored, reported, and engineered for the nightly newscasts. She also hosted the morning drive talk show, and conducted live interviews with expert guests on timely talk topics.[8]

In March 2010 to October 2010, she worked as Video Editor at NY1 News in New York, NY, where she was responsible for editing reporter packages for newscasts under strict deadlines.

She used Dalet and Final Cut Pro as her main editing tools.

Samantha worked as Radio Affiliates Coordinator & Production Assistant for Fox News Radio at Fox News Channel in New York, NY, from February 2010 to December 2010 where she booked high-profile and expert guests to discuss timely news stories, including breaking news.

She also worked as a production assistant, she edited the Fox News Radio business reports and assisted in radio reports for reporters and producers.

she also conducted interviews for the weekly segment, "America's Talking," and edited the final piece.

In October 2010 to July 2011, she worked as Multi-Media Journalist at WRNN-TV / Verizon FiOS 1 News in New Jersey.

She was responsible for shooting, writing and editing all of her own pieces.

She covered breaking news stories, features and everything in between.

She delivered live shots from the field and produced daily news reports for the evening newscasts.

During my time with FiOS1 News, she interviewed former gang rivals who agreed to reconcile after several lives had been lost in shoot-outs and she spoke with family members of victims of the September 11th terror attacks following the assassination of Osama Bin Laden.

In July 2011, she worked as a Reporter/ Fill-in Anchor at KFOX-TV in Las Cruces, New Mexico Area where she delivered live shots from the field and served as a regular fill-in anchor for the weekend evening newscasts.

During her time with KFOX-TV, Samantha broke a story involving a mayoral candidate releasing a sexually explicit video of his opponent which was at the center of an investigation with the Dona Ana County District Attorney's office. That video led to extortion and voter fraud charges. The state eventually stepped in to take over the town's finances following the arrest of several key elected leaders. She followed each development as they unfolded.

She provided live coverage in Santa Fe during the start of the 2011 special legislative session and the 2012 regular session.

Samantha conducted several sit-down interviews with Governor Susana Martinez in the State Capitol.

She also covered President Obama's visit to Maljamar, N.M. in 2012.

She ended her work with KFOX-TV in January 2013.

Samantha worked as a Political/ Investigative Reporter at WATE-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee Area , from January 2013 to January 2015 where she was covering news in Knox County government and the State Legislature.

She covered Knox County Commission, the Knox County mayor and other local county offices.

She also frequently traveled to Nashville to cover General Assembly votes on key bills. She also covered President Barack Obama's visit to Knoxville in Jan. 2015. As a member of the Investigative Team, she tracked government spending and unpaid tax records and dug through personnel files, government emails and lengthy court records.

In January 2015 to September 2016, she worked as Investigative Reporter at WJAX-TV/WFOX-TV Action News Jax in Jacksonville, Florida Area , where she investigated the sinking of cargo ship El Faro which led to the demise of 33 people on board.

She pored through previous inspection reports and records with the U.S.

Coast Guard to uncover the ship's history and the moments leading up to its disappearance at sea.

The team coverage on El Faro led to a Suncoast Regional Emmy nomination.

She also investigated claims of overspending by the Jacksonville-based non-profit, Wounded Warrior Project, by digging through financial records and speaking with sources close to the organization.

She covered the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland and the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia for Action News Jax and she also provided live reports for the noon, 5-6:30p, 10p and 11p newscasts during each day of the convention.

She worked as a Reporter at WFTV in Orlando, Florida Area , from September 2016 to September 2019 .

There, she covered the impact of Hurricane Matthew and Hurricane Irma on Volusia County and the investigation into the homicide of a Winter Park teenager that led to the arrests of three local teens.

She also covered the manhunt and capture of an accused cop-killer and the executions of two other local police officers killed on the job in Kissimmee.

Currently, Samantha Manning is working as Washington Correspondent at Cox Media Group in Washington, D.C.. Metro Area . She

started working there since October 2019. She

provides political coverage of Capitol Hill and the White House for Cox television and radio stations in Atlanta, Boston, Seattle, Orlando, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Memphis, Dayton and Tulsa. She is responsible for covering important developments from Capitol Hill, federal agencies and the White House that impact local viewers.
