Samantha Luna was the victim of Police brutality. She was pulled out of a car by police officers by her hair. The video was recorded by another passenger in the vehicle, Trent. Viewers criticized the Law enforcement for using Excessive Force. ^[1]

She had attended Oyster Festival, a popular event in Arcata, California, which occurs annually. The event welcomes hundreds of people to enjoy live music, Beer, Oysters, and to support local vendors from the Community.

Later in the evening she and her friends were pulled over for a traffic stop.

She believed they were receiving a ticket for a Traffic violation. However, the police stop quickly took a turn, leading to Samantha and her friend being arrested. Samantha was accused of lying about her name since her legal name contains an extra surname, a practice which is common in Latinx communities.

Samantha was accused of Public intoxication by the police officer who pulled her out of a Vehicle by her hair.

In the video, Samantha was not given a reason for her arrest beyond resisting arrest.
