Sam Laib was an 18-year-old from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Sam grew up in Colorado Springs and attended Lewis-Palmer High School where he was a senior. Although he played football earlier in his life, he stopped playing it in high school. Sam was a fan of the University of Alabama and got a quilt of their athletic logo as a gift. In his free time, he enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. Sam is remembered for his infectious smile and kindness towards others.

During the early morning of May 20th around 12:38 am, Sam was driving a Honda Civic northbound on Vollmer road when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into several trees. Sam Laib was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Sam was pronounced dead at the scene.
