Sally Shin is a Bureau Chief and Producer based in San Francisco, California. She is currently the San Francisco Bureau Chief at CNBC overseeing coverage of Northern California, including Silicon Valley. [1] [4]
Education
Shin graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Journalism. She then went on to attend Columbia University Business School, graduating with a Master of Business Administration.

Sally Shin has been the San Francisco Bureau Chief at CNBC overseeing coverage of Northern California, including Silicon Valley since January 2017. Prior to this role, Shin was the Senior Producer for Squawk on the Street and Squawk Alley on CNBC. She helped launch Squawk Alley in 2014, a one-hour program that focuses on the intersection of tech and Wall Street. Before becoming a Senior Producer, Shin worked as a Coordinating Producer and a Segment Producer for CNBC. [1]
As a CNBC Producer, Shin has covered major initial public offerings (IPOs) including Facebook, Alibaba and Twitter IPOs, and spearheaded events including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) / World Bank meetings, Cannes Lions and Brexit. As Segment Producer for CNBC, Shin booked guests including Howard Schultz, Marissa Mayer, Lloyd Blankfein, Jack Lew, Larry Summers, Jack Ma, Christine Lagarde, Jim Yong Kim, Stanley Fischer, and Fred Wilson. [1] Prior to joining CNBC in 2010, Shin began her career in business journalism at Bloomberg working as a Production Assistant.
Volunteering
From 2015-2018, Sally Shin served as a Board Member for Urban Light, an non-governmental organization organized as a 501(c)(3) dedicated to rebuilding, restoring and empoweringthe lives of boys who are victims of sex trafficking, child prostitution, and commercial exploitation in Thailand.
In March 2017, Shin was nominated as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society. The World Economic Forum nominates Global Shapers based on their potential, achievements, and commitment to make positive contributions to their communities.
