Ryan Folsom
Ryan Folsom was a medical student at the University of Texas Medical School.
Education
Folsom was a graduate of Brigham Young University, class of 2011, where he was a Running Back on the football team. Folsom majored in Neuroscience.
He attended North Medford High School in Oregon, where he was a three-year letterwinner for coach Rod Rumrey and earned second-team all-state honors as a running back. Folsom also lettered in wrestling, placing fifth at 160 pounds in both 2005 and 2006. [1]
Personal Life
Folsom's parents are David and Melinda Folsom.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, having served in the Korea Seoul West Mission from 2008-10. Folsom spoke Korean.
He was married to Lauren Folsom.
They have two children and she is currently pregnant with the third child.
Death
In February 2018, a suicidal driver named Grace Elizabeth Ward killed Folsom. Ward was heading north on the freeway in Redding, CA when she crossed into oncoming traffic and attempted to kill herself by running into other cars. She intentionally was driving and swerving towards the cars, which is why she is being charged with murder. While three cars were able to get out of the way, Folsom’s car was struck.
