Royheem Delshawn Deeds is the suspect in the slaying of Eastman Police Department officer, Tim Smith.

He is a 24 year-old with a criminal history.

Shooting of Tim Smith

On August 13th, 2016, police officer Smith responded to a call around 9:30 PM concerning a suspect with a gun endangering the neighborhood.

According to numerous reports, Smith and Deeds had a conversation, and at some point Deeds decided to shoot the officer point blank, and fled the scene.

Smith had time to report what occurred and was transferred to Dodge County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting happened on the east side of the rail line that runs through the middle of town, not far from the Chic-King restaurant.

Multiple police agencies are on alert.

There is speculation that Deeds' motives were to draw a police officer to his location in order to shoot them as a reaction to the 2016 Milwaukee Riot.
