Robert Vance was arrested after he was caught on camera plowing over a motorcycle with his car in a hit-and-run in Lutz, Florida near Tampa, Florida.

On May 31, 2016 at about 5:30 p.m Robert was driving a silver Pontiac erratically and almost ran a Harley Davidson motorcyclist, Joseph Calderazzo and his female passenger, Melanie Milinkovich off the road.

At a red light Joseph caught up to Robert and they had an argument.

According to Abe Garcia who filmed the incident, Robert then hit the gas and tried to kill Joseph and his passenger by speeding up and running them over.

Robert Vance kept driving but he was caught by Florida Highway Patrol a few minutes later down the road, by the Hillsborough-Pasco County border, according to an arrest report.

Joseph said he suffered a broken leg.

Melanie has a severely sprained ankle and road rash on her leg from where the tire of the car spun on her skin, they said.

Both were treated at a hospital and are expected to be okay.

Joseph is a Navy veteran and had gone with his passenger to the Florida National Cemetery to pay respects to fallen veterans.

Charges

Robert Vance is being held in Pasco County for three felony charges, leaving the scene of a crash, driving without a license and aggravated battery.

Given his criminal history, Vance was charged as a “habitual traffic offender.”
