Robert Reames (also known as RR, born September 27, 1959) is an personal trainer​, nutritionist​, and author​. He is the Head Fitness Trainer and Nutritionist on Dr. Phil.


He is the creator of the RR Lifestyle Transformation System.


Early Life & Education

Born and raised in northern Indiana​.[0]​ He was overweight as a child, which fueled his passion for the fitness and nutrition industries. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Ball State University​. He then moved from Indiana to Los Angeles, California​ directly after college.[7]


He is a certified strength and conditioning coach​ (CSCS) from the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He is also a certified nutritionist​ (CN) from American Health Science University (AHSU), and a certified personal trainer (CPT) and fitness nutrition specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).[3][7]


In 2016, he received a a Level 3 trainer/nutritionist certification from the TPI (Titleist Performance Institute); his focus was on golf​ and sports-specific training and nutrition.[3]

He focuses on one-on-one, personalized strength and conditioning.[7]​ He aims to provide his clientele with the latest research in exercise science and its impact on health, wellness, weight loss, anti-aging, and injury prevention/management.[7]


Since 2003, Robert Reames has been the Head Fitness Trainer Dr. Phil. He has appeared on over 70 episodes.[7][📁]​ In addition, he is a nutrition and fitness contributor for Robin McGraw​’s NY Times best selling book, What’s Age Got to do With It? and is the host of the Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Workout for Beginners DVD.[7]
