Rob Prior

Rob Prior is an illustrator, screenwriter, storyboard artist with extensive experience in gaming, comics, film, and television. He has worked with top-tier creative companies like Marvel, D.C., Todd McFarlane, Kevin Eastman and Image Comics. [1] [5]

Personal Life

Rob Prior has been trained as an artist since he was in diapers.

Early in life he was already experimenting with complex mediums like oil and artists’ charcoal. Having become fixed on the idea of becoming an artist he refused to use his dominant hand, working to be ambidextrous in case an accident might befall him. He explained that he committed to it in everything: [1][2]

"For the next couple years I refused to use my right hand as my dominant hand.

So, I switched playing guitar, I switched throwing a football, throwing a baseball, I switched it all."

He discovered new depths to his talent while doing math homework and painting at the same time.

The quirk has become his most comfortable way to create art.

He often paints during live demonstrations around the world [6]

Rob lives in California with his wife and family. [5]

Education

Rob Prior graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. He later earned his MFA from the University of Toledo.
