River Radamus (born 12 February 1998) is an Alpine skier who competes internationally for the United States.The three-time Youth Olympic Games (YOG) gold medalist competes in alpine combined, classification, downhill, Giant slalom, parallel giant slalom, parallel slalom, slalom and super g.
Personal Life

As a young American he grew up in the United States having Birds of prey posters, featuring guys like Andrew Weibrecht and Steven Nyman, on his wall, these were majorly the Athletes he looked up to.He also has a good hold on several languages as he speaks English, Spanish, German fluently. He also likes to spend his downtime surfing and spends about a month a year in Central America surfing and decompressing.
Career

Having being into ski since Childhood,River Radamus gained fame in the sport in the year 2016 when he became the first young athlete to win three gold medals at the Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway. Not stopping there ,He[2] however went on to capture four more medals at the World Junior competitions, two of them being gold in the 2019 Val di Fassa giant slalom and super G. Now the 22-year-old, United States Ski Team up and comer continues the fight to establish himself, and his team, on the World Cup.
In 2018, the the young sportsman experienced his first taste of World Cup success at his all-time favorite venue, Alta Badia, scoring his first world cup point and also skiing into 24th in his all-time favorite discipline, the giant slalom. Ever since Radamus has felt the pressure to perform coming from all sides, but most strongly from within. He takes pride in executing the perfect GS turn, with style and with swagger. He’s been watching the greats do it almost his entire life. As an individual, he’s focused on establishing a name for himself. River has said He wants[3] to be the next Steven Nyman, the next Ted Ligety, the next big guy but even in all of his pursuit for personal accolade, his major goal remains helping his team, be the next big team.

He’s a brother to his teammates and each time he pushes out of the start gate, he fights for points like he would fight for his family, to reach a common goal of excellence and once again put the U.S.

In 2020, he may have seen some setbacks, but if audiences can count on anything, it’s that he won’t stop until he reaches the top.
