Ritesh Agarwal is an Indian Entrepreneur based in New Delhi known for being the Chief executive officer and Founder of OYO Rooms, one of India's biggest exports in renovated hotels.

Agarwal was born and raised in the country of India, and is a native of the city of New Delhi, a place where he continues to reside and work.

At the age of 12 years old he had his first experience staying at a hotel as part of a trip to represent his school at a trivia competition in another town that is few hours away.

He is a graduate of St. Johns Senior Secondary School where he received secondary education in English, Physics, Chemistry, and other subjects.

Years later as a teenager in high school, he focused on solving the issue of building a hotel company or entity with nicer rooms and services that people around India can also afford.

^[5] He initially began to get the idea of solving the issue after traveling around the country on a low-budget and lodging at horrible places.

After repairing them and aggregate them on a website he realized he had to learn more about hotels and their system.

To learn about hotels from the ground up, he worked as cleaner for a small motel.

In 2013, after experiencing first-hand the conditions of running a hotel, let alone a franchise, he founded the company, Oyo Hotels.

Some time after starting the company he received $100,000 from Thiel Foundation as a way to subsidize his entrepreneurial efforts in starting his own company as a college-dropout.
