Rita Maze was a popular cook at Morningside Elementary School in Great Falls, Montana. ^[1]

On September 7, 2016, at around 12:30 a.m., Rita Maze was found dead in the trunk of her black Pontiac Grand Prix in Spokane, Washington. Rita Maze had been kidnapped the day before at a rest area on I-15.

Rita Maze was able to call her family at about 10:25 p.m. to tell them that she had been hit on the head by a large man in a black hoodie and put her into the trunk of a car.

There is a person of interest in the case and authorities are looking at a surveillance video from a convenience store.

Because of the interstate travel involved, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
