Richart Derrek Ruddie (born 1985) is an American entrepreneur and art collector based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.[1][2][15][22][23] Ruddie currently serves as CEO for Nu Profile, CTO for Profile Defenders and has had investments and business holdings ranging from real estate, finance, Android & iPhone apps, software monitoring products, and reputation management.[3]
Early life & education
Richart Ruddie was born to Myles and Bonnie Ruddie, who owned a family pharmacy and raised him in Owings Mills, Maryland, where he attended Owings Mills High School.[17]
From 2005 to 2009, Ruddie studied economics at Florida Atlantic University, while there becoming vice president of their consulting and investment club.[18] He went on to study technology entrepreneurship at Stanford University. [19]
Career
In August 2013, Ruddie founded Humanity.FM,
a project similar to CNN Heroes that used crowdfunding to reward people of merit who have done good in the world and want to make a difference.[19][20]
Between 2011 and February 2016, Ruddie worked as CFO for Protos Eyewear, a 3D printing comany specializing in eyewear located in the San Francisco Bay area.[18]
In February 2016, Ruddie became a digital marketing strategist at Boxes, an online platform for collectors, where he fueled their user growth leading to it's acquisition in April 2018.[21][18]
In January 2011, Ruddie became CEO of Nu Profile and also serves as CTO for Profile Defenders, reputation management companies that have featured in publications such as Forbes, Entrepreneur and The Wall Street Journal.[18]
In January 2017, Ruddie cofounded another company called Class Updates, a mobile application connecting teachers and students to give instant notifications and updates.[18]
Art collection
Ruddie enjoys the visual arts and over a period of just 3 years started to grow an art collection that includes works by Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Takashi Murakami, David Yarrow and Alec Monopoly.[24]
Philanthropy & charity work
Ruddie has a passion for making a positive difference and volunteers at orphanages around the world as a constant reminder that we should take nothing for granted and be thankful and happy for everything that we have each day of our lives.[17] He has carried out several missions and contributed over $100,000 to various charities and nonprofit organizations.[18]
Ruddie enjoys electronic dance music and has appeared on Night Owl's radio show along with Eric Prydz after winning a spot in a charity auction.[29]
