Police responded to 7 Cherry Street around 10:16 p.m. Wednesday October 21, 2015, and found a 19-year-old man lying near the entrance to the home with a gunshot wound in his head. The victim was later identified as Ricardo Rivera of Madison Street in Hartford.
Medics rushed him to St. Francis, where he was placed on life support.
On Friday, he was pronounced deceased.
A second man was also injured in Wednesday’s shooting.
Police say minutes after Rivera was found, a 23-year-old man arrived at St. Francis Hospital in a private vehicle.
He had a gunshot wound to the torso and said he’d been shot by 7 Cherry Street as well.
Police said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
That victim has not been identified.
Detectives from Hartford Major Crimes and the Hartford Shooting Task Force are investigating.
He is survived by his mother Maria and his father Ricardo, his stepfather Jariel, two sisters, Maria and Patricia and his son, Ricardo.
He is also survived by his grandmother, a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
