Rex Santus is an American award-winning Journalist and news writer currently working for Vice Media. [1] Over the years, he has made a name for himself in his home state of Ohio as one of its most impressive reporters working in the U.S. His work has also been featured in other publications as Forbes, Student Press Law Center, Mashable, and The Denver Post. Some of his specialties include breaking Social media-related news stories and video editing.
Education
Rex is a graduate of Kent State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in News Journalism. He graduated in 2014. During his time in college, he won several scholarships for his excellence in journalism.
Career

During and after college, Rex contributed to several publications in different capacities.
He held various positions at The Daily Kent Stater over the years up until his final year of college. At E. W. Scripps statehouse News Bereau Fellow he covered governor John Kasich and the Ohio Legislature. He would also go on to be a City Desk Intern for the The Columbus Dispatch, in which he wrote articles about science and education.
For several months, he was a part of the Student Press Law Center as a staff writer covering issues of censorship and First Amendment infringement at high schools and Universities nationwide.
From 2014-2016, Rex worked for several publications as an intern.
He worked at The Denver Post, Mashable, and Forbes.
Vice Media
Rex is currently the Vice News social editor as well as a news writer. He is responsible for writing headlines throughout the day while also identifying and writing breaking hits. He also manages their Social media feeds and edits video content to some capacity.
