RentHoop is a mobile app that connects renters looking for roommates, created by Paul Burke.[13]

Paul Burke, a graduate of Western Washington University in 2014,[5] came up with the idea in his mom's house in Redmond, Washington.[6] The app launched in the App Store and Google Play on May 2, 2016, and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.[1] [2][3] The app has been coined "Tinder for Finding Roommates."[4]

The app connects with Facebook [8] and users can log in using their Facebook account giving them an opportunity to make mutual connections. They can set up a profile and start searching for possible roommates, based on location, preferences and similar interests. Users then swipe left if they don't want to talk with them, or swipe right if they do.[9]
