Renee Anne Anisko Rockefeller is the wife of Mark Rockefeller, the son of the former Vice President of the United States Nelson Rockefeller. In 2018, she made headlines when reports surfaced that she shoplifted expensive earrings while on vacation in Mexico.
Early Life & Education
Renée was born to parents Joseph and Eugenia in the state of New Jersey. She grew up in the city of Watchung. Her father is the owner of J&E Associates, which is a Real estate investment and company. Her mother is the founder and director of the Polish Supplementary School at the Polish Cultural Foundation in Clark, New Jersey.
Renee is a graduate from Lehigh University and received a Law degree cum laude from Temple University.
Career
Mrs. Rockefeller was until recently an associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, the New York law firm.
She is currently on the board of directors of Creative Time, which is a public art organization.
Personal Life
Renee and Mark Rockefeller married in 1998, and have had 4 children since. They live in Park Avenue.
On July 16, 2020, Mark filed for divorce in New York Supreme Court. The divorce is uncontested. It is believed the couple separated around two years ago, but have remained friends, quietly hashing out the terms of their divorce. A source said, "This divorce has been going on for years. This is just the first filing. Renee and Mark are friends and have even been spending the COVID lockdown together with their kids and the rest of the family at the Rockefeller family estate in Westchester."[12]
Legal Issues
Shoplifting Allegations
In February 2018, during a trip at Punta Mita in Mexico, while staying at the St. Regis Hotel she and her friends visited a Four Seasons where it is alleged that Renee Rockefeller paid for a $500 dress while attempting to leave the store without paying for some very expensive earrings.
Renee has denied the story and has threatened the Daily Mail, saying that she will get her attorneys involved.
