Remmy Majala (born 11th of February) whose full name is Rehema Kala Ikutu, was born and brought up in Taita-Taveta County. She was a News presenter and Reporter at K24 TV of Mediamax Network Limited.

She has worked with the Media House from October 2008 till now, and she hosts the famous K24’s Arena 254 a show that talks about Music, Media personalities and entertainment in Kenya. ^[1]

Remmy Majala started her career at Homeboyz radio before getting a break on TV hosting different shows

She was a Journalist with more than nine years of experience in Broadcast journalism, entertainment reporting and breakfast television hosting formerly with the National Kenyan television station, K24. With interest in music and fashion, Remmy conceptualized, produced and hosted three weekly entertainment/lifestyle shows at K24, blending current affairs with the artistic all rounded Kenyan music industry.

As a Television personality, Remmy transitioned from entertainment reporting which she undertook in 2008 through 2011, to anchoring Kenya’s prime time news and other subsequent bulletins from 2012 through 2015, where she fused interests of hard news and soft entertainment snippets, that proved to be popular and was later rewarded with a bigger platform; the K24 breakfast (Alfajiri) show. ^[7]

Keeping with her ingenuity, imagination and innovativeness, Alfajiri was re-branded to a more social morning television show, breaking away from Kenya’s traditional news during breakfast shows; something that saw the show ratings soar to leading the market, all this while she hosted the show up until December of 2015.

She then hosted an entertainment/lifestyle show by the name of Arena 254 from January 2016 to June 2017.

She left K24 for Switch Media Kenya in 2018 where she was Anchor/Host from September 2018 through January 2019.^[6] She is currently a Creative Collaborator/Influencer for What's Good Studios.

She had her GCE Advanced Level from Kabojja International School in Uganda, she then went on to study Music at the Wynton House of Music, ABRSM, (Nairobi, Kenya).^[8]

Remmy Majala is happily married to her husband James Smart (journalist), a KTN news anchor who has been in the media industry since 2007.^[5] It was through the media circles they first met. Remmy and James are blessed with two boys. The first son is called Riley Kwamusonzi, the second boy came December 2016, and she tweeted about how joyful she was to have two boys:
