Reese M. Hartstirn is a 33 year old man from 500 block of North Racine in Chicago, Illinois.

Allegations

On May 7, 2016 Reese choked an 8-year-old girl until she went unconscious inside the bathroom of a South Loop restaurant called Jason's Deli (1258 S Canal St, Chicago).

She was with her mother at the restaurant in the when the girl went to the bathroom alone about 1:15 p.m. on May 7, according to Chicago Police.

The mother heard her daughter scream and went inside to find Reese Hartstirn carrying the unconscious girl into a bathroom stall.

He had choked her with his hands.

Reese was charged with felony counts of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated battery of a child.

He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of battery and aggravated assault of a peace officer for punching an officer who arrested him.

Customers at the store helped restrain Reese until police arrived to arrest him.

The girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, but police didn't release her condition.

Reese is being held without bond and is due back in court on May 16, 2016.
