Rebecca Soderman was known as a beautiful girl with a caring personality.
She enjoyed shopping, hanging out with friends, listening to music, skating, martial arts, and dancing.
She worked in sales at a Spirit Halloween (store). [undefined]
Death
"In Rebecca, our community has lost a compassionate young woman who not only felt the pain of others, but found meaning and joy in offering them comfort," said her father, Randy Soderman.
According to police, a 21-year-old Rolling Meadows man was driving the vehicle west on Plum Tree Road when it left the road and struck a tree near Rock Ridge Road.Rebecca
Soderman died at 11:48 p.m. Sunday at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. Police said the Rolling Meadows man and a second passenger, a 16-year-old Barrington girl, were taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Lake Barrington with minor injuries. [1]
Barrington High School Principal Stephen McWilliams sent an email to parents notifying them of the student's death. "I spoke to Rebecca's family who is grieving the unexpected loss of their child," McWilliams wrote. "I understand that many of her friends and their families will have difficulty coping with this loss as well."McWilliams said he notified all students of Soderman's death and emphasized that counseling support is available to them if they need help processing their emotions."Our priority is supporting our students as they grieve the loss of their classmate," he wrote. Barrington Hills authorities said the crash remains under investigation.
