Raya Encheva (born September 28, 1992) is a YouTube video blogger who shares travel and lifestyle videos on her channel YouTube RayaWasHere.^[2]

She was born on September 28, 1992 in Ruse, Bulgaria. She has moved at least 15 times and didn't speak English until she was 10. She studied social and cultural studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. After receiving her degree, she moved to New York City.^[4]

After completing graduation, she realized that she didn't want a normal 9-5 job, she made the decision to spend time working on herself and figure out how she could make a positive difference in the world.

Her family moved to the United States in 2002.
