Ray Vicks (born 22nd April, 1988) is a Louisiana-based rapper born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana who released a 2017 album titled The Frank White Story. He previously put out a mixtape in collaboration with Trashbag Kee called Hustlin Like It's 86, and worked on a collaborative project called BBG Or Die.[3]
Background
Rapper Ray Vicks had a troubled upbringing.
He had a very rough childhood, losing a sister to cancer, one brother to street violence, and another brother locked up in a life sentence for murder, all before he turned 16.
In a bid to take care of his family, he put his own life and career on hold.
He had to take care of his family which included a daughter of his own.
In order to make ends meet, he involved himself in criminal activities and illicit lifestyle that way wholly unbecoming.
Career
By his early twenties, he shifted gears, moving away from his illicit lifestyle to focus on music.
He released several early mixtapes such as 2011's Trapped in the Hustle and contributed featured verses on many other artists' tracks. Ray Vicks "Trapped in the Hustle" video starring his homies Squirm G, Yung Stunna, Rambo & Fee was a Real movie-like video that shows the grimey side of the street-life. It has nearly 500,000 views on YouTube
His 2016 single "Yola" brought the young rapper significant attention, in part due to a guest feature on the song from Gucci Mane. In 2017, he offered up the ambitious mixtape The Frank White Story, which featured cameo appearances from Jadakiss, Jay Lewis, Mista Caine, and others.[4] He followed up the next year with Values & Morals, a collaborative mixtape with Mista Caine. Values & Morals was released on 16th March, 2018. It has 13 songs which includes: Fucked Up, G-Shit, Another Bag, Always Lookin', Virtual (Featuring – Bambino Gold ), Peace, Broke My Wrist, All The SmokeFeaturing – FG Famous, JayDaYoungan ,* It's Up With Me, Pyrex, Die A Gangsta,* and*No Regrets (*Featuring – Calliope Var)[5]
