Rawtek is a DJ/Production duo based in Los Angeles, California.

Rawtek's members, Levi & Daniel, originally met through mutual friends who thought that they could collaborate on music together.

At first, they made what they considered "crappy house music," but later decided to really focus on honing their sound.

Their name Rawtek is a slight play on words.

The word "Raw" is meant to encapsulate their raw or organic music, whether it be native chants, animal sounds, organic atmospheres, cultural music.

The word "tek" symbolizes the technical aspect of modern music.

Although their influences are spread across the Caribbean and South America, the name of their sub-genre they categorize under "Lionsound" originates from the reggae and jamaican culture of music.

In terms of influences, Rawtek lists their inspirations as Boaz Van de Beatz, Jack Ü, TroyBoi, GTA, & Wiwek.
