While performing in an experimental theater play, 'Mirages,' in Pisa, Raphael accidently hanged himself in an interactive scene. The rope around his neck tightened and he began to suffocate until a medical student noticed. Raphael ended up being in a medical coma for several days until he was declared brain dead. He died on Febuarary 5, 2016.
