Overview
The ‘Raid Area 51’ Facebook event, set to begin on Friday, September 20th, 2019 at 3:00 AM and end at 6 AM PST, was created by 20 year old college student Matty Roberts.
This event was originally created as a meme, a joke of the internet, and quickly became one of the most popular memes to ever be created.
Event Details
Set to take place in Amargosa Valley, Nevada, 2 million have responded going to the event while 1.4 million are marked as interested.
The event even has its own website[3] and anthem[4]. Details of the event are as follows, “We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run (a style of running seen in the popular anime), we can move faster than their bullets. Let's see them aliens.”

Fox News[2] took note of the event and interviewed its creator who stated, “I don’t want anyone to actually get hurt with this… It’s meant to be funny, I do want to do something cool out there now that we have a bunch of people, but I don’t want anyone to get hurt”.
CNN[1] has the air force stating "[Area 51] is an open training range for the U.S.
Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces, the U.S.
