On Monday March 26, 2017, Duncan was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, Timothy Patrick Olin. The shooting occurred just after 4:00 p.m. at the Jo-Ann Fabric store on the 3700 block of West Saginaw St. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

She was shot several times with a semi-automatic handgun after being confronted by Olin at the front counter of the store. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}
