Keeble graduated from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkley in Islamic studies, and African American religion. There she also got her masters degree in Social Justice and Religious Leadership.
Career
Rabi'a Keeble wrote book "Activism in a time of change and uncertainty: A Muslim Woman's Perspective from the front lines".
She was a convert to Islam and founded the Qalbu Maryam Women's Mosque out of her love for Islam and her personal experiences with sectarian ignorance.

I say if you are so easily affected by someone's body you need to work on your nafs, because prayer calls for concentration and men are around women all day.
We have to learn to not be so touchy, to be more open hearted and have open minds, and to practice social justice towards everyone.
Fighting, and holding on to old ideas about who people are racially, who they are nationally, and culturally is a problem, but we can fix that.
Mosque is open to all genders and everyone is welcome and there is no Imam in the mosque.

"Qal'bu Maryam, or Maryam's Heart, is named in honor of Mary, mother of Jesus (Isa), Peace and Blessings to them, and is a fitting name for a Mosque starting in a church which holds dear, and recognizes the sistership between us and our Christian and Jewish allies."
