Quorum is the in-house Blockchain project of J.P. Morgan. ^[1] It is based on Ethereum. The project was launched in 2016.

The team leader is Executive Director Amber Baldet.

Baldet says of the project: "One of our goals in working with an open-source platform and contributing our work back is to encourage collaboration and innovation.

The more people that get involved, the faster we will see adoption challenges addressed and the more robust the system will become."

J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon is an outspoken critic of Bitcoin, which has led some to call him hypocritical in light of his company's development of Quorum. However, in his comments, Dimon recognized that Blockchain technology was groundbreaking, and criticized Bitcoin as an investment vehicle in blockchain.
