Myah Autry

Myah Autry, who goes by the name Queen Empress Myáh Lareé Israelite, is a woman who made headlines when she entered a fenced off area to have a close encounter with a lion. ^[1]

Overview

Myah Autry climbed into a lion's enclosure at the Bronx Zoo on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Shortly before the incident Autry posted a video of herself smoking a blunt outside of the Bronx Zoo. She said she was "going to “f*ck with mother nature." ^[7]

After the incident she wrote a string of posts about it, saying:

"I really have (no) fear of nothing breathing.
Animals can feel love just like humans.
I STAY WIT THE FINEST 🌿HERB ON MOTHER NATURE🌱.”

She also said:

"Everybody loves lions until they meet them in the flesh.
Let’s just say the lions & the children and kids that witnessed ‘Queen Empress Myah Laree Israelite’ go in with the lions and made it out alive.
I’m from Brownsville I never ran and I never will."

She was unaharmed and the lion only seemed mildly agitated. Bronx Zoo officials followed up by filing a criminal trespassing report with the police. Autry has been arrested before for a shoplifting charge in Florida and a trespassing charge in Iowa. ^[7]

Police have had trouble locating Autry in the days following the event, as she posted pitures of her whereabouts around New York City and even posed with a few NYPD officers. At one point she released an Instagram video of a rap where she's taunting the police, she captioned it: ^[6]

"I’M KARMA, DARMA WITH THE FLAMES.
I AM FIFTEEN CLEOPATRAS BELIEVE ME, RAPPING & DOING PUSH UP’S AT THE SAME TIME, MY NAME IS “QUEEN EMPRESS MYÁH LAREÉ ISRAELITE” AND DON’T YOU MUTHA F–KAS EVER FORGET IT."

Her response to critics who argue that she put the lion's life in danger was nonchalant.
