In an interview with Hiphopsrevival Bowman explains how he came up with his stage name: "Because My Real Name Is TyQuian and people use To Joke And Say TyQuiando So I Took Ty Off and Kept QUANDO ! And the rondo part just sounded good I took it and ran with it."
