Pure Taboo
Pure Taboo is an American pornographic film studio created in 2017 by director and producer Bree Mills[1] and part of the Canadian audiovisual group Adulttime, formerly Gamma Entertainment, since its inception.[2]
It is characterized by the production and distribution of films, or serial episodes, of films that reflect Taboo pornography or illicit erotic fantasy. "Our viewers will definitely see something different from our actors than anything they'll see anywhere else [...] We're bringing fans a kind of graphic theatrical excess with genuine acting and disturbing stories mixed with hardcore sex, in a production environment that is anything but ordinary," explained studio CEO Bree Mills. The director was presenting a "new era in adult filmmaking," seeking a shift in approach to the roles of actors and actresses.[3]
The studio's first film was Half His Age,[4] co-starring Charles Dera, Cherie DeVille, Jill Kassidy, Kristen Scott, Small Hands and Xander Corvus.[5][6] Concurrent with its release, the studio proposed the creation of exclusive content for its website, in addition to physical purchases, with a teaser trailer for the episode (or short story) Crossing Borders, starring Adriana Chechik and Tommy Pistol, being announced as the first teaser.[7] A few weeks later, it was announced that the studio's first guest director would be actress, filmmaker and producer Joanna Angel,[8] who would go on to direct several episodes for the website and feature films such as Dysfunctional Marriage, Trailer Park Taboo and Under the Bed.
