He was an accomplished song composer, singer, accordionist and trumpeter the church, he was attending at that time.
It took a long time before Prophet Babajide surrendered to God's call. He gave some excuses like Moses, Gideon and Jeremiah (etc) did when God was calling them.

Several years more, he continued in his teaching profession.
In the year 1937 precisely at Ikire Ile now in Osun State, he finally surrendered and resigned his teaching appointment to obey God's command.
That year the Lord manifested himself powerfully in his life and was led to Pastor J.S.B.

Though he joined the apostle and his team of disciples or Evangelists in 1937 as a young minister but through his enthusiasm in prayer, activities, total submission to the will of God, the Lord endeared him to the heart of Apostle Ayodele Babalola and he became first among equals.

Since then two of them have become close friends until Apostle Ayodele Babalola was called to glorious home in heaven in 1959. Through divine revelation to establish a School of Evangelists and Prophets in Christ Apostolic Church so he founded the College.
As a disciple who will not operate without the consent of his master Apostle Ayodele Babalola, he shared the vision with him.
The Apostle encouraged him to start without wasting time and told him that the Lord had revealed the same message to him in the year 1936.
The school could not commence by then due to herculean task of evangelism, some years later God revisited the issue and called Pa D:O.

CLARITY: VARIATIONS IN BABA’S DATE OF BIRTH
You will all notice variations in Baba’s date of birth both in the daily newspaper’s report, on the net even by author of some books.
Some writers, journalists wrote 1907, while some also penned 1900, even an author recently stated that he was born around 1889.
This variations began when insinuations were going around that he is older than his master Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola (of blessed memory), but having heard this issue.
He decided not to give his date of birth at all.
As a matter of fact, questions regarding this were tactically pushed aside.
He always says, “A servant is not above his master in anything and not even in age”, because every wise servant seeks to be even as his master.
This is another lesson for all of us that we need to be humbled in all things and be contented with whatsoever position God has placed us.

HIS LAST MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH TO CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH
Brethren of Christ Apostolic Churches, as God has committed this work unto our founding fathers and they do it with the leading of the Holy Spirit, and if they do anything, it is not by this worldly or earthly wisdom or intelligence but through the wisdom that comes from above, because the wisdom of this world cannot bring or produce the kingdom fruit(s) except the wisdom from heaven (Romans 8:7; 3: 13-6, 17).
Therefore, I beseech you to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, which brings about the wisdom that cleans or purges his church, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Rom.
8:14).
I have never slacked with the promptings of Holy Spirit at all.
Likewise, members of this church, do not be disobedient unto the heavenly vision (Acts 26:19) whatsoever the Spirit says to you, don’t disobey it.
Friend, you too should listen attentively.
God will speak to you and whatsoever He says unto you; please do it and it will end in sweetness for you and to the beneficiaries of your good deeds.
Finally, quench not the Spirit (I Thess.
5:19), think on things that are good, acceptable and we will proper (Isa.
1:19).
Songs: Aye nkoja lo, aye nkoja lo
Onigbagbo majafara o, aye nkoja lo
Mumi dele ayo
Nibiti ruke-rudo ko si
Nibiti a o joba pelu Olugbala wa
Jesu jowo mu mi de be
Hallelujah!
Yours,
D.O.
