Princesa Alba
Trinidad Valentina Riveros Inostroza (born: February 16, 1997), better known by her stage name Princess Alba, is a Chilean singer and artist. The music video for the song "My Only One" (sometimes stylized "Mi Only One"), which went viral in 2017, starring the same artist, is mistakenly called Princess Alba.[2]
Biography and career
Princess Alba gained recognition for her first single "My Only One", released on YouTube in 2017, which became a viral video. It was recorded at Santiago's Monumental Stadium, home to her favorite soccer club Colo-Colo, from which she takes her artistic pseudonym. Her surprising fame made her face a lot of negative comments and prejudices, especially about her body image and her music.
In 2018 Princess Alba launched her mixtape Del Cielo Mixtape with productions by Gianluca, OSSA and with a collaboration of the French company Lean Chihiro. This recording work earned her nominations for the outstanding Indigo and Pulsar awards. She collaborated with the singer-songwriter Dulce y Agraz with the song "Nada que temer" which appears on the album Trino.
In December 2018, Princess Alba released her single "Summer Love" (in collaboration with Gianluca) and produced by Francisco Victoria, which quickly climbed the charts in Chile.
On Spotify, she gathered a total of more than 750,000 listeners per month. With a high presence on social media, Princess Alba, has gained several followers. The music video for "Summer Love" was produced by Camila Suazo and was filmed in the Villa Portales and Inés de Suárez towers in Santiago.
In April 2019, Princess Alba released her single "Convéncete", produced by Francisco Victoria and in June of the same year, the music video, which was directed by renowned filmmaker Marialy Rivas, was released.
And at the end of August she released the single "Hacerte mal", also produced by Francisco Victoria, with a music video that was directed by Javiera Eyzaguirre with art direction by Valentina Caiozzi.
In September 2019, Princess Alba embarked on her first international tour, dubbed "Hacerte mal tour", performing at the UrbanWorld Film festival in New York City, where she was nominated for the music video for "Convéncete". The tour continued to Mexico where she performed on four dates in Saltillo, in Apizaco, at the Perreo Millenial festival in Mexico City and in Oaxaca.
Princess Alba is currently studying Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Musical style
Although she has been catalogued as a trap musician -- and even being described as the "Queen of trap" -- Princess Alba's style is closer to pop music, as she has defined it in an interview for Culto de La Tercera:
Mine was never trap, it's like pop with trap tints, with winks, but from the first song which is My Only One (2017) was always super pop. And I'm on that path, I don't have many limits or musical prejudices.
So I can really do anything, tomorrow I can do a dembow [track], or reggaeton or a dance hall [track], it's super fun to have those freedoms and I think my whole generation has that perspective.
