Pregnant Whale Pain

Pregnant Whale Pain is an experimental metal band that hails from Budapest, Hungary. The band released its first eponymous album on October 31, 2014.

The members are Dániel Garamvölgyi on guitar, Krisz Horváth as vocals, Lóránd Kiss on drums, Balázs Lederer also on guitar, Dániel Polgár on bass guitar, and Lőrinc Serfőző on trumpet.[1]

Pregnant Whale Pain's songs are charged with emotional, surly vocals and noisy hardcore guitar, sometimes progressively building up throughout the song.

Songs such as "How to Ruin Her Makeup" and "Blank Long Nights Kill Romance Vengefully" especially showcase this.

Others, such as "Mythical Creature (Acoustic)" and "Care, Please" are more calm and melancholy.

Lederer has commented[2] on the name of the band:

We didn’t want a cool band name.

Whatever sounds cool today is going to sound really lame in a few years anyway.

Pregnant Whale Pain is going to sound just as stupid 10 years from now as it does today.

At least we know what to expect.

Also we’re pretty heavy.

So are whales.

Especially pregnant ones.
